Catalytic Oxidizers   data sheet

Overview

The Wittemann Company LLC -- Industrial Division designs and manufactures Catalytic Oxidation Systems for purification of CO2 streams containing certain combustible and non-combustible impurities not easily removed in other known processes.

A simple statement concerning a process employed for many years in the purification of CO2 for food-grade, beverage quality CO2. However, this does not begin to reflect on the complexities involved in the design and specification of a Catalytic Oxidation System. Important considerations relative to first-in cost compared to operational costs and side reactions that can result from the process -- all must be considered in the design of a Direct Oxidation System.

Further, the various types of catalysts available, partial or full oxidation of impurities, prior removal of sulfur compounds or oxidation of these impurities, resultant side reactions for the various catalysts available and the cost of that subsequent removal -- all complicate this process and have a major impact on the design and manufacture of your system.

The Wittemann Company LLC -- Industrial Division is dedicated to proposing the correct solution to your direct oxidation requirements. Custom designed systems are supplied dictated by the full analysis of the inlet CO2 to be processes.

Wittemann's Development Program is continuous and necessary to keep informed of the developments in this process. Development Personnel continually work with various catalyst manufacturers, VOC designers and University Research and Development Departments to ensure that the Direct Oxidation System proposed is that best suited for your application based on:

  • Performance
  • First In Costs
  • Operation Costs [Life-Cycle]
  • Side Reaction Purification Technology
  • Operation Ease
  • Operation Safety
  • Reliability

Wittemann's Oxidizer System is designed to protect against potential hazardous conditions. To ensure your Oxidizer System's safety, an added feature provided as a standard in a Wittemann's Oxidizer System, is an automatic purging system. This purging system protects against the possibility of residual Hydrocarbons or Excess Oxygen being present in the Oxidizer System upon start-up. Hydrocarbons or oxygen remaining in the Oxidizer System could potentially result in a hazardous condition overriding design considerations that could affect the integrity of the system.
